The reason for me listing my prior work experience at the Car Wash Lodge on my professional website is because I was able to learn things that will better my career. Such as during my time at the Car Wash Lodge I was promoted as a manager for the first time in my life. Sure I have received promotions numerous times but never where I was in the positon to lead a group of employees. Therefore, during this experience I gained valuable knowledge on what it will take to be a great manager. Some of the skills I was able to develop throughout the time being a manager are communication, leadership, and sale skills. The reason that I say that I was able to better develop my abilities that I listed are because these were abilities that I used every day at work. Throughout my work experience I was always dealing with customers and trying to upsell them to the most expensive service that we offered. More often than not I was able to showcase my sale skills by up selling customers to the more expensive washes that we offered. I was also able to develop my communicating abilities by communicating with my fellow employees by instructing them how to do something or what they need to get done to do the job the correct way etc. Lastly, when it comes to my leadership skills, I never had a doubt that I could not lead those guys because throughout my life I was always the leader either in the classroom or on the football field. Although, leading a group of people at work was something that I have never experienced before because now I was being looked up to by my fellow employees. Therefore, I was able to learn the best ways to lead and better there role for the company throughout my time at the Car Wash Lodge and also better develop my abilities.
